Certaines races de chiens ont historiquement montr\u00e9 une pr\u00e9disposition \u00e0 cette affection, connue sous le nom de CMD primaire<a href=\"https:\/\/www.frontiersin.org\/articles\/10.3389\/fanim.2023.1271202\/full#B17\">(Dukes-McEwan et al., 2003<\/a>; <a href=\"https:\/\/www.frontiersin.org\/articles\/10.3389\/fanim.2023.1271202\/full#B37\">Meurs, 2003<\/a>; <a href=\"https:\/\/www.frontiersin.org\/articles\/10.3389\/fanim.2023.1271202\/full#B32\">Leach et al., 2022<\/a>). Cette pr\u00e9disposition est particuli\u00e8rement observ\u00e9e dans des races telles que le Doberman Pinscher<a href=\"https:\/\/www.frontiersin.org\/articles\/10.3389\/fanim.2023.1271202\/full#B67\">(Wess et al., 2010<\/a>; <a href=\"https:\/\/www.frontiersin.org\/articles\/10.3389\/fanim.2023.1271202\/full#B4\">Beier et al., 2015<\/a>), l&rsquo;Irish Wolfhound<a href=\"https:\/\/www.frontiersin.org\/articles\/10.3389\/fanim.2023.1271202\/full#B64\">(Vollmar et al., 2013<\/a>; <a href=\"https:\/\/www.frontiersin.org\/articles\/10.3389\/fanim.2023.1271202\/full#B65\">Vollmar et al., 2019<\/a>), le Grand Danois, l&rsquo;American Cocker Spaniels, le Bouledogue anglais, le Golden Retriever<a href=\"https:\/\/www.frontiersin.org\/articles\/10.3389\/fanim.2023.1271202\/full#B3\">(Belanger et al., 2005<\/a>), le Terre-Neuve<a href=\"https:\/\/www.frontiersin.org\/articles\/10.3389\/fanim.2023.1271202\/full#B1\">(Backus et al&#8230;, 2003<\/a>; <a href=\"https:\/\/www.frontiersin.org\/articles\/10.3389\/fanim.2023.1271202\/full#B18\">Fascetti et al., 2003<\/a>; <a href=\"https:\/\/www.frontiersin.org\/articles\/10.3389\/fanim.2023.1271202\/full#B2\">Backus et al., 2006<\/a>), les Saint-Bernard, les chiens d&rsquo;eau portugais<a href=\"https:\/\/www.frontiersin.org\/articles\/10.3389\/fanim.2023.1271202\/full#B58\">(Sleeper et al., 2002<\/a>) et les schnauzers standard et g\u00e9ants<a href=\"https:\/\/www.frontiersin.org\/articles\/10.3389\/fanim.2023.1271202\/full#B25\">(Harmon et al., 2017<\/a>), comme le montrent des ann\u00e9es de recherche men\u00e9es par des experts tels que Dukes-McEwan et al, Meurs et Leach, entre autres.   <\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Si les facteurs g\u00e9n\u00e9tiques ont \u00e9t\u00e9 au premier plan, des \u00e9tudes r\u00e9centes ont mis l&rsquo;accent sur les d\u00e9clencheurs alimentaires potentiels &#8211; en particulier les r\u00e9gimes riches en l\u00e9gumineuses, en pommes de terre et en patates douces, souvent class\u00e9s dans la cat\u00e9gorie des r\u00e9gimes \u00ab\u00a0non traditionnels\u00a0\u00bb. Ce changement d&rsquo;orientation a \u00e9t\u00e9 inspir\u00e9 par une s\u00e9rie de publications de Kaplan, Ontiveros, Freid, Walker, Freeman, Owens et Quilliam s&rsquo;\u00e9talant de 2018 \u00e0 2023<a href=\"https:\/\/www.frontiersin.org\/articles\/10.3389\/fanim.2023.1271202\/full#B28\">(Kaplan et al., 2018<\/a>; <a href=\"https:\/\/www.frontiersin.org\/articles\/10.3389\/fanim.2023.1271202\/full#B41\">Ontiveros et al., 2019<\/a>; <a href=\"https:\/\/www.frontiersin.org\/articles\/10.3389\/fanim.2023.1271202\/full#B24\">Freid et al., 2021<\/a>; <a href=\"https:\/\/www.frontiersin.org\/articles\/10.3389\/fanim.2023.1271202\/full#B66\">Walker et al., 2021<\/a>; <a href=\"https:\/\/www.frontiersin.org\/articles\/10.3389\/fanim.2023.1271202\/full#B23\">Freeman et al., 2022<\/a>; <a href=\"https:\/\/www.frontiersin.org\/articles\/10.3389\/fanim.2023.1271202\/full#B42\">Owens et al., 2023<\/a>; <a href=\"https:\/\/www.frontiersin.org\/articles\/10.3389\/fanim.2023.1271202\/full#B50\">Quilliam et al., 2023<\/a>). Cependant, il est essentiel de noter qu&rsquo;il existe un contrepoint de recherche, notamment des \u00e9tudes men\u00e9es par Donadelli, Pezzali, Cavanaugh, Reilly et Singh, qui ne montrent aucun impact n\u00e9gatif de ces r\u00e9gimes sur la fonction cardiaque<a href=\"https:\/\/www.frontiersin.org\/articles\/10.3389\/fanim.2023.1271202\/full#B16\">(Donadelli et al., 2020<\/a>; <a href=\"https:\/\/www.frontiersin.org\/articles\/10.3389\/fanim.2023.1271202\/full#B47\">Pezzali et al., 2020<\/a>; <a href=\"https:\/\/www.frontiersin.org\/articles\/10.3389\/fanim.2023.1271202\/full#B10\">Cavanaugh et al., 2021<\/a>; <a href=\"https:\/\/www.frontiersin.org\/articles\/10.3389\/fanim.2023.1271202\/full#B51\">Reilly et al., 2021<\/a>; <a href=\"https:\/\/www.frontiersin.org\/articles\/10.3389\/fanim.2023.1271202\/full#B57\">Singh et al., 2023<\/a>).  <\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Le discours sur ce sujet n&rsquo;est pas sans complications. Les recherches, bien que de plus en plus nombreuses, pr\u00e9sentent certaines limites, comme l&rsquo;ont soulign\u00e9 McCauley et d&rsquo;autres chercheurs en 2020. Il s&rsquo;agit notamment de l&rsquo;absence de contr\u00f4le de param\u00e8tres alimentaires sp\u00e9cifiques, tels que les quantit\u00e9s exactes de l\u00e9gumineuses ( <a href=\"https:\/\/bonza-retheme.blz.au\/ingredient\/peas-good-for-dogs-health\/\">pois<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/bonza-retheme.blz.au\/2023\/10\/can-my-dog-eat-fava-beans\/\">f\u00e8ves<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/bonza-retheme.blz.au\/ingredient\/chickpeas-good-for-dogs-health\/\">pois chiches<\/a> et lentilles) ou de <a href=\"https:\/\/bonza-retheme.blz.au\/ingredient\/potato-protein-good-for-dogs-health\/\">pommes de terre<\/a>, de variables non contr\u00f4l\u00e9es dans les \u00e9tudes d&rsquo;observation et d&rsquo;incoh\u00e9rences dans des facteurs tels que la pr\u00e9disposition \u00e0 la race, l&rsquo;utilisation de suppl\u00e9ments et la taille de l&rsquo;\u00e9chantillon.  <\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">La Food and Drug Administration (FDA) des \u00c9tats-Unis est \u00e9galement entr\u00e9e dans le d\u00e9bat, \u00e0 la suite de rapports faisant \u00e9tat d&rsquo;un nombre croissant de cas de DCM soup\u00e7onn\u00e9s d&rsquo;\u00eatre li\u00e9s \u00e0 l&rsquo;alimentation. Elle a lanc\u00e9 des enqu\u00eates sur la corr\u00e9lation potentielle entre certains r\u00e9gimes alimentaires et la CMD<a href=\"https:\/\/www.fda.gov\/animal-veterinary\/outbreaks-and-advisories\/fda-investigation-potential-link-between-certain-diets-and-canine-dilated-cardiomyopathy\">(1)<\/a>. Cependant, malgr\u00e9 l&rsquo;explosion des ventes d&rsquo;aliments sans c\u00e9r\u00e9ales pour animaux de compagnie (en hausse de 500 % entre 2011 et 2019, comme le rapportent Quest et al.), le taux d&rsquo;incidence des diagnostics de DCM chez les chiens reste relativement inchang\u00e9 dans les h\u00f4pitaux v\u00e9t\u00e9rinaires des \u00c9tats-Unis.  <\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Dans ce contexte complexe, une <a href=\"https:\/\/www.frontiersin.org\/articles\/10.3389\/fanim.2023.1271202\/full\">\u00e9tude prospective<\/a> a \u00e9t\u00e9 con\u00e7ue avec des objectifs sp\u00e9cifiques : surveiller les changements dans les param\u00e8tres \u00e9chocardiographiques et certains biomarqueurs cardiaques (NTproBNP, cTnI) et \u00e9valuer les biopsies endomyocardiques chez des chiens consommant divers r\u00e9gimes alimentaires personnalis\u00e9s repr\u00e9sentatifs des options sans c\u00e9r\u00e9ales et avec c\u00e9r\u00e9ales sur le march\u00e9 actuel. L&rsquo;hypoth\u00e8se \u00e9tait simple : ces r\u00e9gimes n&rsquo;auraient pas d&rsquo;impact n\u00e9gatif sur la sant\u00e9 cardiaque d&rsquo;une cohorte de chiens de race pure et de race mixte sur une p\u00e9riode de sept mois. <\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Les r\u00e9sultats sont \u00e9loquents : si le traitement a eu un effet notable sur la fraction d&rsquo;\u00e9jection (FE), toutes les FE sont rest\u00e9es dans l&rsquo;intervalle de r\u00e9f\u00e9rence. Il est important de noter qu&rsquo;aucun effet du traitement n&rsquo;a \u00e9t\u00e9 observ\u00e9 pour d&rsquo;autres param\u00e8tres cardiaques et biomarqueurs chez les chiens, ind\u00e9pendamment de leur r\u00e9gime alimentaire sp\u00e9cifique. L&rsquo;\u00e9tude a conclu qu&rsquo;aucun d\u00e9veloppement de dysfonctionnement cardiaque n&rsquo;a \u00e9t\u00e9 observ\u00e9 chez les sujets test\u00e9s sur la base des param\u00e8tres \u00e9chocardiographiques, des biomarqueurs cardiaques s\u00e9lectionn\u00e9s ou des biopsies endomyocardiques.  <\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Cette conclusion souligne la n\u00e9cessit\u00e9 pour les recherches futures d&rsquo;isoler les cas individuels afin de mettre en \u00e9vidence les variables pr\u00e9cises et les m\u00e9canismes potentiels en jeu dans les cas pr\u00e9sum\u00e9s de DCM associ\u00e9e \u00e0 l&rsquo;alimentation chez les chiens. La qu\u00eate pour d\u00e9coder la relation entre l&rsquo;alimentation canine et la sant\u00e9 cardiaque semble \u00eatre un voyage permanent.
