Is jodium gezond voor honden?<\/strong><\/p>\n

Jodium is een essentieel spoormineraal met als belangrijkste functie het bestanddeel van schildklierhormonen – thyroxine (T4) en triiodothyronine (T3) – de hormonen die de stofwisseling, energieproductie, groei, vachtkwaliteit en vrijwel elk systeem in het lichaam van de hond regelen. Zonder voldoende jodium wordt de synthese van schildklierhormonen verstoord en de gevolgen zijn verstrekkend. <\/strong><\/p>\n

In Boost wordt jodium geleverd als kaliumjodide, een stabiel en zeer biologisch beschikbaar anorganisch jodiumzout dat de standaardvorm is die wordt gebruikt in voeders voor gezelschapsdieren om een consistente en nauwkeurige jodiumvoorziening te garanderen.<\/p>\n

Een essentieel spoormineraal dat wordt geleverd als kaliumjodide en dat dient als verplichte bouwsteen voor de synthese van schildklierhormonen, ter ondersteuning van de regulering van de stofwisseling, het energiegebruik, de lichaamstemperatuur, de hartfunctie, de cognitieve gezondheid, de vachtconditie en de normale ontwikkeling en functie van vrijwel elk orgaansysteem bij honden.<\/p>\n

Thyroxine (T4) en triiodothyronine (T3) bevatten elk respectievelijk vier en drie jodiumatomen. De schildklier is als enige in staat om voor dit doel jodium uit de circulatie te concentreren en voldoende jodium in de voeding is een absolute vereiste voor de synthese van deze hormonen. <\/p>\n

Schildklierhormonen reguleren de stofwisseling: ze regelen de snelheid van oxidatieve fosforylering in cellen, de basale stofwisseling, de homeostase van de lichaamstemperatuur, de eiwitsynthese en de stofwisselingsreactie op catecholaminen, waardoor adequate jodiumvoeding fundamenteel is voor de algehele vitaliteit en lichamelijke conditie.<\/p>\n

Een tekort aan jodium leidt tot hypothyreo\u00efdie – gekenmerkt door gewichtstoename, lethargie, koude-intolerantie, slechte vachtkwaliteit en reproductieve disfunctie bij honden.
